BBC News: Port restores trans-Atlantic link
In 2009, the BBC reported on the first shipment of Canadian grain into Silloth in 47 years. The 2,526 tonnes of wheat from Quebec arrived at the Carrs Flour Mills complex next to the dock in order to be turned into bread flour.
