DIRECTIONS TO SILLOTH BY ROAD
From South (& Scotch Corner A66)
- Leave M6 North Exit 41 (North to Penrith)
- B5305 West to Wigton (beware of sharp bends on the end of long straights!)
- B5302 West to Silloth
NB: It is 31 miles from the M6 to Silloth (around 45 minutes).
From North (Scotland A74 & A7)
- Leave A74/M6 at Exit 44
- Follow City Centre signs as far as Eden Bridge
- At large roundabout take A595 - West to Workington, Cockermouth & Keswick
- Approximately 7 miles Thursby Roundabout
- Take 3rd exit A596 to Wigton & Workington
- At the West end of Wigton bypass (6 miles) turn right onto B5302 to Silloth.
From East (i.e. N.E. England & Newcastle Airport)
- A69 to Brampton (by-pass Brampton)
- 0n either A689 (was B6264) or A69 follow signs Carlisle & West
- At large roundabout in Carlisle take A595 as above
NB: It is 24 miles from Carlisle to Silloth (around 40 minutes).
AT SILLOTH
- At T-junction in Silloth (Good Companions Nursing Home is on the right) turn left along Criffel Street.
- Entrance to Mill is near the sea front (turn right into Lawn Terrace) at the West end of the Green in the centre of the town.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POTENTIAL MILL VISIT
If, during your visit, you are likely to enter production areas, the following points should be observed:
- Flat shoes for mill tour are recommended.
- Jewellery: Only sleeper earrings and plain wedding bands permitted.
